Myke Scoggins, Ph.D.

Myke Scoggins brings 25 years of pharmaceutical experience to Recro Gainesville as director of product development. In this role, Scoggins oversees all early-phase formulation and process development, analytical method development and validation, scale-up, and technology transfer activities. Joining Recro in 2017, Scoggins has been a driving force in internal process improvements to facilitate efficiencies in process development and offer flexible solutions for clients while delivering quality products.

Prior to joining Recro, Scoggins worked in other pharmaceutical development environments on various dosage forms and delivery systems including tablets, capsules, transdermals, microneedles, and osmotic systems. He has experience in analytical instrument manufacturing, management of medical device microbial and chemical testing, NDA and ANDA development for FDA and international filings, and pharmaceutical research at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Scoggins earned his Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences from Mercer University and a bachelor’s of science degree in microbiology from the University of Georgia. Scoggins is currently a member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) and serves on the 2015-2020 USP Expert Committee for General Chapters – Physical Analysis with memberships on the Powders and Particles Subcommittees and the Nanotechnology Joint Subcommittee. Scoggins has delivered numerous lectures on topics in the pharmaceutical sciences to graduate students at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, University of Georgia, Mercer University, and Georgia Institute of Technology. He has also helped develop graduate courses in pharmaceutical sciences and presented research findings at national and international meetings.
